Project Lisa -1974 Sonett III
Our Club bought Project Lisa (named after the previous owner) in early 2007 and towed her to Charles Stoyer's place on Lookout Mountain where our club commenced a 2-year series of club member work parties. The car had been severely vandalized while in storage, mostly destroying the older restoration work of our club member Chips Barry when he had owned the car. Our club, under the leadership of Bruce Harbison - Special Projects Director, spent several hundred hours to bring Lisa back to life as a presentable driver, doing as much as possible to return her to the original configuration.

Photos illustrate some of the work that went into the refurbishment, but you will notice that there are some features, such as the sunroof, and the Guards Red paint job, that remain non-standard for a Sonett III. To view video footage of Lisa on the road, CLICK HERE...

Thanks to club members Rob Martinson, Tracy Cochran, Don Palmer, Gail Solt, John Coppage, Paul Callahan, Jim Beetham, Miles Bendixson, Bill Searcy, Tom Nelson, and Bruce Harbison for all their work. But mostly Charles Stoyer for hosting the work parties, providing space, tools, and an occasional beer, and for keeping Project Lisa safely indoors for much of the 2-1/2 years. Special thanks to Stan Dave of Bolder Auto Interiors for doing the re-upholstery of the seats.

Project Lisa will be available for purchase at the 2009 SOC Live Auction at Copper Mountain, August 14th. For full details and the opportunity to bid, go to Lot #101 of the RMSC Auction Catalog or contact any of the following: Bruce Harbison, Charles Stoyer, or Tom Nelson.
