Automotive enthusiasts in general can really get excited over live auctions… especially when they feature rare and unique automobilia! Just the thought makes the eyes widen, ears perk up, and the heart beat faster. If you’re a Saab Owners Convention regular, you may also appreciate the great finds that can be had at the annual SOC Auction. For 2009, your SOC hosts have a special treat in store. For the first time in recent history, the Saab Owners Convention will include a dedicated Live Car Auction featuring Classic and Vintage Saabs!
Tom Nelson, long time RMSC member, Saab fanatic, and Chairman of the 1999 Keystone SOC, has graciously offered to head up the event. Currently, knowledgeable and distinguished Saab folk from all over the U.S. are being recruited. With the help of these aficionados, this auction will surely offer a display of “accessible” Saab history like no other!
In the Market?
Approximately twenty or more superb examples of both vintage and classic Saabs are expected to be on the block. The Auction Committee will release a catalog of consigned vehicles. For those “in the market”, what better opportunity could there be to acquire a high-quality and perhaps rare Saab model? Make tentative plans now to attend SOC 2009 at Copper Mountain Resort, Colorado. The Live Auction will be held on Friday night, August 14th.
But I can’t make it to Copper? While you’ll miss out on the SOC, you can still catch the excitement of the live auction! Proxibid.com will be providing LIVE streaming audio and video of the entire event. All items including cars, parts, and memorabilia, will be available soon in the online catalog and will be up for bid August 14, 2009. To keep things authentic, RMSC has also enlisted a professional auctioneer that should keep things moving along quite nicely!
Get ready for some serious bidding with hundreds of Saab loyalists from across the country and beyond. Consignments will be accepted for exceptionally clean and hard-to-find examples. Arrangements have also been made for select vehicles to be bid on remotely… meaning you won’t have to worry about transport to Copper Mountain!
